Also on Friday, Aiken is remembering its history at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery with a special candle-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Attendees can pick up candles and bags earlier in the week or at the gates that day starting at 4 p.m. This event is not just about illumination; it’s about bringing the community together in remembrance.

Aiken’s Community Engagement: Tree Lighting and More!

The Town of Wagener will be buzzing with joy as it lights the Christmas tree at 5 p.m. on Friday. And while you’re in the spirit of giving, don’t forget about the Community Pet Food Drive at the Aiken County Animal Shelter on Saturday morning, December 14, from 8:45 to 10 a.m. It’s a drive-thru event, making it easy to grab supplies if you’re in need!

Feeling Generous? Join Us for a Coat Giveaway

On Saturday, be sure to swing by Rural Health Services from noon to 2 p.m. for the Christmas Coat Giveaway. It’s an excellent opportunity to pick up a warm coat, hat, or gloves for kids while supplies last. This event, sponsored by Molina Healthcare, is a fantastic way to spread warmth throughout the season.

Holiday Crafts and Parades Galore!

Saturday promises to be packed with fun as the Crosland Park Neighborhood hosts its annual Christmas Parade at 11 a.m. Don’t forget to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots as your entrance fee. Plus, if you’re a fan of unique handmade gifts, check out the Crafts and Gifts Sale at the Aiken County Historical Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than a dozen local vendors will showcase their crafts. Supporting local artisans has never been easier—or more enjoyable!

Hopelands Gardens: A Spectacle of Lights

Now, for those who enjoy a little romance in the air, the Christmas in Hopelands event is back! From December 14-23, enjoy a walk through over two miles of dazzling light displays from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on the pathways of Hopelands Gardens. Each night, the stunning displays will be complemented by concerts at 7 p.m. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this festive outdoor getaway!

Rickety Railroads, Santa, and Crafting

On Saturday afternoon, the Langley Pond Christmas event beckons families from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect Santa to arrive with joy and excitement around noon, plus food, crafts, and delightful activities. Meanwhile, if you fancy local flavors, head to the Hometown Christmas Festival at Boondock Farms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a farmers market and live music.

Join the Holliday Spirit with Tunes and Treasure Hunts!

The season wouldn’t be complete without festive music and friendly gatherings. On Sunday, December 15, Aiken’s Youth Choirs will perform their holiday concert at the First Baptist Church—bring your family for an uplifting evening. And for those who love to perform themselves, the Art of Words Poets’ Open Mic on the 19th at the Aiken County Public Library promises an evening of creativity and inspiration.
