As the sunny skies welcome back a sense of normalcy, Aiken, South Carolina, is gearing up for a celebration that promises to bring a big smile to everyone’s face! Yes, it’s that time of the year again—the much-loved Western Carolina State Fair is officially opening its gates this Friday, October 11, and it couldn’t come at a better time.

A Chance to Celebrate Together

After experiencing the devastation brought on by Hurricane Helene, the community has faced significant challenges—cleaning up damage, navigating insurance claims, and feeling the impact of financial strain. But with the fair opening, folks have a wonderful opportunity to hit pause, forget their troubles for a bit, and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun. After all, everyone deserves a little break, right?

What to Expect at the Fair

The Western Carolina State Fair is packed with everything you’d hope for in a classic fair experience: thrilling rides, exciting games, amazing shows, and, of course, those delicious fair foods that we all crave! Whether you’re a thrill-seeker looking to scream your heart out on rides or a family looking to enjoy the shows, there’s something for everyone.

Special Deals to Help Out

In a nod to the community’s current situation, the fair is making things a bit easier for everyone. On 15 Buck Tuesday (October 15), you can grab unlimited ride bands for only $15, down from the usual $35! Just keep in mind that this doesn’t include gate admission, which will also be free on Wednesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 17. It’s a perfect chance for families to come out without breaking the bank!
