Hey there, Aiken! Exciting news is on the horizon as the Western Carolina State Fair prepares to kick off this Friday, October 11. After a challenging few weeks due to Hurricane Helene, the fair is set to provide some much-needed fun and community spirit for everyone!
The fair will run from October 11 to 20 at the Western Carolina State Fairgrounds, located at 561 May Royal Drive. And guess what? Parking is totally free! That’s right, you can roll up, park your car, and dive straight into the festivities without worrying about any extra fees.
One exciting offer coming up is the 15 Buck Tuesday on October 15. On this day, you can enjoy unlimited ride bands for just $15! Keep in mind that this doesn’t include gate admission, but it’s a fantastic way to enjoy all those thrilling rides without breaking the bank.
And it gets even better! The fair is acknowledging the financial hardships many residents are facing after the hurricane. To help out, gate admission will be FREE on Wednesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 17. That’s a great opportunity to soak up the fair atmosphere, enjoy delicious food, and take part in the festivities without spending a dime on entry!
As we all come together to navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the fair is stepping up in a big way. Amanda Dennis, the Vice President of Fair Operations, shared the heartwarming mission of the fair this year. “We invite you to join us as we come together to support our community in the wake of Hurricane Helene,” she said. The fair board is working hard to organize food drives, blood drives, and even animal shelter donation drives throughout the duration of the event.
As you head into the fair, you’ll find a dedicated donation center right at the gate where fairgoers can contribute much-needed items. Organizers are asking for donations of bottled water, toilet paper, diapers, and nonperishable food items to aid those in need. This is a great chance to lend a helping hand while enjoying all the fair has to offer!
The fair promises a variety of attractions, including thrilling rides, games, and plenty of tasty treats to savor. From cotton candy to corn dogs, your taste buds are definitely in for a treat. Plus, make sure to check out the local vendors and exhibitors showcasing their amazing goods and crafts.
So, mark your calendars, grab your friends and family, and get ready for a fantastic time at the Western Carolina State Fair. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker ready to tackle the rides or someone who just wants to soak in the beautiful, clear skies with highs around 81°F, this fair is sure to have something for everyone!
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for any updates directly from the fair organizers, and let’s make this fair a memorable one for our community. See you there!
