Hey there, Augusta! If you’re looking for a way to give back to our beautiful community while having a little fun in the great outdoors, you’re in luck! The Phinizy Center is ramping up their volunteer efforts this November and December, and they want YOU to be a part of it!
The next big volunteer work day is happening on Saturday, November 16th, from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M.. So gather your friends and family, and head over to the Phinizy Center for an afternoon of outdoor activity. It’s a fantastic way to meet new people while making a positive impact on our local environment!
Thanks to the tireless effort of volunteers and staff, the Phinizy Center has already cleared over 20 trees from the trails in their stunning nature park. These clean-up efforts are vital for maintaining the park and ensuring that trails are safe and accessible for everyone. Just imagine walking through those beautifully restored paths, surrounded by nature—and YOU can help make it happen!
Are you interested in rolling up your sleeves and getting involved? It’s easy! The organizers are urging people to register online for the volunteer work day. If you’d prefer to speak with someone directly, you can reach out to Volunteers Director Kim Dillard during working hours at (706) 828-2109. It’s that simple!
You may be wondering, “Why should I volunteer?” Well, besides the obvious benefits of helping the environment, volunteering is a great way to:
The Phinizy Center plans to add even more volunteer work days throughout November and December, so stay tuned for announcements. It’s an excellent chance to get involved and keep our local parks looking fantastic as we head into the New Year.
Don’t forget to bring a few essentials! Make sure to wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty, as well as sturdy shoes suitable for walking trails. Also, bring along some water to stay hydrated while you work hard!
What’s impressive about events like this is the spirit of community that they foster. Every person who shows up to lend a hand is part of a bigger movement to preserve the natural beauty of Augusta. It proves that together, we can make a real difference!
If you’re ready to join in on the fun and help out at the Phinizy Center, make sure to register online or give Kim a call at (706) 828-2109. Let’s come together, enjoy the fresh air, and contribute to something truly special in our city!
