Hey there, Aiken! If you’re looking for something helpful to do this week, mark your calendar because Team South Carolina County Days is making its way to our wonderful city! This exciting event is happening on Friday, October 18th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center located at 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville, S.C.
So, what’s all the buzz? These county days are designed to lend a hand to residents who have been affected by Tropical Storm Helene. It’s like having a one-stop shop for relief resources available to residents. With the devastation that the storm caused, this is a golden opportunity for locals to learn all about the support available in our community.
You’ll get to see not just state officials but also federal representatives and folks from various nonprofit organizations. They’ll provide information about important services such as health care, employment resources, mental health services, and support for individuals with disabilities, among others.
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the agencies that will be present:
Aside from our Aiken event on the 18th, there are also two other opportunities this week:
Besides the Team South Carolina County Days, there’s been quite a bit going on in Aiken recently! For instance, an Aiken woman was recently arrested for a serious incident involving a gun. Then there’s the tragic news regarding the rising death toll connected to Tropical Storm Helene—the Aiken County Coroner reported a recent cardiac-related death linked to it.
But it’s not all about the storms and serious matters! This past weekend, the annual Aiken Buddy Walk took place at USC Aiken, bringing families together to raise awareness about Down syndrome. It was heartwarming to see the community shine with love and support.
It’s essential to stay informed during these times. Whether you’re looking for assistance or wanting to volunteer, the Team South Carolina County Days is an excellent way for everyone to come together. Remember, it’s all about community, and we’re stronger together!
So, whether you’re a local resident needing help or someone looking to contribute, mark your calendars and join in! Let’s show our Aiken spirit this week!
