Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Tracks Down Missing People in Recent Cases

In the bustling city of Richmond, news of safety and community support brings joy to everyone. It’s been a whirlwind of activity over at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), where they recently located several missing individuals who were both vulnerable and in need of assistance.

Ti’Yana Sirmons Located Safe

First up on the positive news report is Ti’Yana Sirmons, a 21-year-old who had been declared missing after her family lost contact with her on January 8, 2025. The last sighting of Ti’Yana was at around 12:30 PM on the 2400 block of Barton Chapel Road. She was known to be wearing a black puffy jacket and was last seen carrying a blue purse.

What made this situation even more urgent is that Ti’Yana has nonverbal autism, which put a sense of worry in the hearts of her family and friends. The RCSO took to social media and other platforms to request the public’s help in finding her. After just a day’s search, it was a relief to learn that Ti’Yana was found safe and sound, allowing everyone to breathe a little easier.

A Positive Ending for Phillip Thomas

The good news didn’t stop there! The RCSO also successfully located a 58-year-old named Phillip Thomas, who had been missing since January 6, 2025. Phillip was last spotted leaving the Peaceful Living III Home on Deans Bridge Road that afternoon. At the time, he was dressed in a blue hoodie, blue jeans, and brown shoes.

Phillip suffers from schizophrenia and is on medication, which increased concerns for his wellbeing given the circumstances. Thankfully, thanks to community vigilance and the dedicated work of the sheriff’s office, Phillip was found and returned to safety.

Ongoing Search for Other Missing Individuals

Bertina Dalton, a 50-year-old who was last seen on December 22, 2024. She was last known to be in the 3100 block of Skinner Mill Road, where she thoughtfully contacted her family on Christmas Day but refused to share her location. Authorities have expressed concern over her mental health status, making it vital for anyone with information to step forward.

Another case involves Azariel Williams, a 14-year-old who is considered a runaway juvenile as of December 30, 2024. The sheriff’s office is appealing to the community to help bring Azariel home safely.

Community Calls for Support

The RCSO continues its diligent efforts and is urging the public to aid them in these ongoing searches. If you have any information related to Bertina Dalton or Azariel Williams, you are encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080.

Richmond County is a tight-knit community, and moments like these remind us all how important it is to support one another. Every piece of information shared, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in someone’s life. With a collective effort, the hope is that every missing person can be as fortunate as Ti’Yana and Phillip and return home safely.
