Hey there, Augusta! We’re back with this week’s restaurant report, where we dive into the health inspection scores of our local eateries. We all love treating ourselves to a meal out, and part of that experience is knowing that the food we enjoy is safe and served in a clean environment. So, let’s take a look at the scores from August 26 through August 30, shall we?
First, let’s cover some of the scores that might make you rethink where to grab your next bite. Starting off with Which Wich Superior Sandwiches on Wheeler Road, this spot brought home a score of 88. Now, that’s a bit on the lower side. The health inspector noted a few violations, including a black build-up inside the ice chute of the self-service drink machine and staff wearing bracelets while prepping food. Not the best practices, right? Plus, there were no paper towels available in the men’s restroom, which is an essential for cleanliness.
Next up is Jimmy John’s located on Agerton Lane. They scored a 92. While that score isn’t terrible, there were still a couple of things to address. At this establishment, the health inspector found bread uncovered on the rack in the food service area and a black buildup inside the ice chute, similar to the previous score. Oh, and one more thing—the sugar scoop was improperly stored. These small oversights can impact a restaurant’s overall score.
On a brighter note, we’re excited to announce that several restaurants in Columbia County and Aiken County hit the mark with perfect scores of 100. It’s always encouraging to see local businesses prioritizing cleanliness and safety. These restaurants should definitely get a shout-out for their hard work and dedication!
In other news, there’s a fantastic community effort happening here in Augusta! The Resourced Conference has brought together hundreds of agencies and nonprofit organizations aiming to serve our community better. This gathering is all about collaboration and partnership—something that reflects the spirit of Augusta. Community groups are joining forces to ensure that our local residents have access to various resources and support.
So, there you have it! Whether you’re planning a meal out or just curious about the health scores of your favorite spots, it’s essential to stay informed. Remember, those perfectly scored restaurants are committed to keeping their environments clean and safe for you and your loved ones.
As we continue to support our local businesses, let’s also keep in mind the importance of health and safety. Make sure to check for those scores next time you’re exploring dining options in our lovely city of Augusta! Until next time, happy dining!
