A Pumpkin-Filled Halloween Celebration Kicks Off in Aiken

As the crisp autumn air settles over Aiken, the city is buzzing with all sorts of festivities this Halloween season. With friendly ghosts and ghouls preparing for an evening of fun, residents are ready to dive into a thrilling mix of community events that celebrate this spooky holiday!

Trick-or-Treating Festivities

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is all set to host its annual trick-or-treat event today, October 31st, from 3 to 5 p.m. This event takes place right at the Sheriff’s Office located at 420 Hampton Ave. Children from infants to age 12 are warmly welcomed to gather their treats. The charming employees will don their best costumes, ready to hand out bags filled with candy to eager little trick-or-treaters like Nolan Rockefeller, who was spotted enjoying the festivities from last year’s event.

Not to be missed, a special Spooktacular event will kick off later this afternoon at the Aiken County Recreation Center, located at 917 Jefferson Davis Highway. This event runs from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and promises plenty of candy, treats, and a delightful atmosphere, all until the goodies run out!

Upcoming Weekend Activities

Looking ahead, the weekend brings even more excitement! If you love apples (and who doesn’t?), make sure to check out Applefest happening this Friday and Saturday, November 1-2, at St. John’s Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St. N.W. The first day will kick off with a preview party from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., where entry is just $10 at the door. The fun continues on Saturday, starting bright and early at 8 a.m. with free admission and an array of goodies, including apples, baked treats, and delicious meals.
