Good morning, North Augusta! If you stepped outside early today, you might have noticed a touch of patchy fog lingering in the air. But as the sun rises higher, it’s promising a beautiful day with clear skies and temperatures hitting a pleasant 83°F. Light winds from the southeast should keep things comfortable this afternoon. So, grab your sunglasses and enjoy the abundant sunshine!
As we savor this lovely autumn day, let’s turn our attention to something really important happening in our community: the upcoming election for the Aiken County Public School Board. This year, we have a dedicated citizen stepping up as a write-in candidate for District 4—her name is Tee Grant.
If you don’t know Tee yet, let’s take a moment to get acquainted. Tee has been a resident of North Augusta for over 30 years and is a proud parent of a son who currently attends North Augusta public schools. Her journey of servant leadership began in her childhood and has blossomed beautifully over the years.
Tee fondly recalls how her parents emphasized the importance of giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. Those early lessons set the stage for her commitment to her community, which continues to shine through her efforts even today. From a young age, she was involved in her church—serving as a Sunday school secretary and participating in the Youth Choir and Usher Board.
It’s no surprise that Tee carried those early experiences into her academic life as well. During her time at Allendale-Fairfax High School, she showcased her passion for leadership by being an active participant in the National Honor Society and Beta Club. These experiences paved the way for Tee’s strong desire to serve others—a desire that has only grown stronger with time.
As a community leader, she has made a positive impact through her involvement with a local sorority chapter, where Tee’s guidance was invaluable. But her commitment doesn’t end there! District 4 has felt Tee’s influence through her constant support for schools and teachers. For instance, she has helped students in her son’s classroom library and led various fundraising efforts as an active member of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
Currently, Tee is serving her third year on the Area 2 School Advisory Council, appointed by the Aiken County School Board. Her service journey started at Hammond Hill Elementary School and continues at Paul Knox Middle School. It’s clear that Tee Grant’s passion for education and her dedication to improving school environments have well-prepared her for the challenges of a school board member.
So, what are Tee’s goals if elected as District 4 School Board Member? Tee has identified some key priorities aimed at ensuring our students receive the best possible education. She emphasizes the importance of creating a safe school environment for all students, enhancing career pathways for post-graduation success, and providing unwavering support for teachers. Her vision involves not only recruiting top-notch educators but also retaining them to maintain a quality education system for our children.
As the election draws near, it’s time for the residents of North Augusta to make a significant decision. District 4 voters, remember to write-in Tee Grant on your ballot! Her dedication and experience make her a strong candidate to help shape a better future for Aiken County Public Schools. So, why not show your support for someone who genuinely cares about our children and our community?
Let’s rally together and make our voices heard! Enjoy the beautiful weather today, and don’t forget to think about the positive changes you want for our schools.
