The incident unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. on Bergen Road, where law enforcement officers observed Carpenter’s vehicle committing several traffic infractions. Initially, Carpenter denied having consumed any alcohol and claimed that her passenger, her sister, was also sober. However, her condition raised red flags.

Unfortunately, she did not pass this test and subsequently took a breath test, revealing a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.13%. This level is significantly above the legal limit of 0.08% in South Carolina, landing Carpenter in hot water with the law.
Carpenter has already been charged with DUI alongside two additional traffic violations. After her arrest, she managed to bond out of Aiken County jail. Meanwhile, the Richmond County School System, where Carpenter has served since July 2024 after her previous role at Langford Middle School, has acknowledged the incident and is currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
