Hey there, Augusta! Change is in the air, and we’re definitely feeling the excitement. A beloved burger joint that’s been serving up patties for nearly four decades is making way for something new and fresh. That’s right! Drayton-Parker Cos. LLC has just received the green light from the Augusta Commission to transform the former Burger King at 3054 Washington Road into a brand-new Parker’s Kitchen.
The beloved Burger King, which opened its doors back in 1986, will soon be reimagined into a sizzling spot that’s set to offer much more than just snack options. Not only that, but the construction will also spill over onto 3064 Washington Rd., an already cleared and vacant site that once housed a Mi Rancho Mexican restaurant and before that, a Damon’s restaurant. Exciting, right?
The new Parker’s Kitchen promises to be a fabulous addition to our restaurant scene, strategically located near some of the busiest eateries in town. Just next door, you can find the ever-popular Chick-fil-A, while Rhinehart’s Oyster Bar sits right across the street. With so many eateries around, it’s sure to capture the attention of both hungry locals and visitors alike!
Now, you might be wondering what makes Parker’s Kitchen stand out from the crowd of convenience stores. Well, it’s all about quality and cleanliness! This chain has built a reputation for serving up freshly prepared hot food that you won’t find everywhere. Plus, you can always count on their restrooms to be spotlessly clean — now that’s a bonus!
But it gets even better! The upcoming 5,100-square-foot Parker’s Kitchen will feature an impressive 16 fuel pumps according to the proposal. So, whether you’re just looking for a quick bite to eat or need to fill up your tank, this spot aims to be your one-stop destination. With more than two dozen new locations being planned in the area, Augusta is in for some tasty times!
If you’ve been keeping your ear to the ground, you might have noticed that Parker’s Kitchen has been expanding all over the Augusta area. In just the last year, they have either established or announced plans for new stores in key locations, including 3661 Mike Padgett Hwy., 4102 Windsor Spring Rd. in Augusta, as well as 5095 Washington Rd. in Evans. Don’t forget the two new spots north of Grovetown located at 925 Husk Box Way and the corner of Columbia and Lewiston roads.
As construction rolls on, the excitement is building. The contractor bidding for a Parker’s at 4099 Jimmie Dyess Pkwy. closed in October, and just last month, the Augusta Commission voted to rezone property at 3645 Wheeler Rd. to pave the way for yet another Parker’s Kitchen. Talk about ambitious plans!
And let’s not forget, Parker’s has also made waves by being featured on Inc. magazine’s “Inc. 5000” list for 2024, showcasing America’s fastest growing private companies. Quite the resume for a convenience store, wouldn’t you agree?
As we wave goodbye to the iconic Burger King and look forward to the tasty offerings at Parker’s Kitchen, it’s clear that Augusta is buzzing with change. Are you excited to check it out once it opens? We sure are!
