AIKEN, S.C. – Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred months ago in Aiken. The incident took place on February 17, when officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to reports of gunfire in the early morning hours.
At around 6:52 a.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Aldrich Street. The victim of the shooting reported that he was awakened by the sound of multiple shots being fired. He described the moment he realized something was wrong when he heard glass shattering inside his home.
Upon investigation, officers found signs of gunfire on the victim’s property. There were two bullet holes in the front of the house and one inside the living room wall. Fortunately, no one was injured during this terrifying incident. However, the damage to the residence was significant, with a bullet hole piercing the back door, leading into the porch area.
Almost six months after this shocking event, investigators were able to identify a suspect. Samarion Fuewell, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on August 7. He has been charged with several crimes, including assault, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging firearms into a dwelling, burglary, and two counts of larceny as per the records from jail.
