American Freight, a furniture and appliance retailer with a national presence, is set to close all its locations, including the ten stores in South Carolina. This announcement comes after the company entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and signals significant sales as the retailer aims to clear its inventory.
The closure will impact the 328 American Freight stores across the United States. In South Carolina, this includes locations in Columbia, North Charleston, Greenville, Rock Hill, and Myrtle Beach. The Atlas Road store in Columbia is among those closing.
As part of the liquidation process, American Freight has begun sales at all its locations, allowing customers to take advantage of discounts of up to 30% off the lowest ticketed prices. The inventory available for purchase includes a wide range of merchandise: from living room sets and bedroom furniture to dining tables. The company is also offering a selection of both scratch & dent and new-in-box appliances such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers.
The sales are already ongoing following the announcement, and the company is advised to shop early for the best selection as inventory is limited. The specific timeline for the complete closure is not detailed, but shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of the deals as soon as possible.
