As the cozy fall days settle in here in Aiken, there’s an exciting event right around the corner that locals won’t want to miss. The Kiwanis Club of Aiken is gearing up for its annual oyster roast on Saturday, November 9, and it promises to be a delightful evening packed with good food, music, and great company. Mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy a wonderful community gathering!
Taking place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the lovely Palmetto Golf Club, located at 275 Berrie Road SW, this year’s oyster roast is not just about eating delicious seafood; it’s also a fundraiser supporting the club’s mission to serve the youth and community.
For just $75 per ticket, attendees will enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters, mouth-watering meals from Duke’s BBQ, and an open bar. Yes, you read that right—an open bar!
In addition to the scrumptious food and drinks, there will be a silent auction featuring fabulous gift baskets. One of the most exciting prizes up for grabs is a chance for three lucky folks to play a round of golf at the beautiful Palmetto Golf Club. Talk about a perfect day!
And as if that’s not enough, the night will be filled with live music performed by the talented duo, J.A.M.—comprising Jake and Matt from the Jake Bartley Band. It’s bound to be a lively atmosphere where you can groove while enjoying your favorite foods and drinks.
Dustin Ennis, the event’s chairman, expressed his excitement, saying, “Oysters, barbecue, live music, and an open bar … I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday evening.” He encourages everyone to come out and support the hard work the Kiwanis Club does for our youth and community.
The Kiwanis International is dedicated to supporting children and young people worldwide, and the Aiken chapter plays a significant role in that mission. They facilitate a variety of programs in local schools that aim to uplift and empower youth, including Terrific Kids and K-Kids for younger students, Builders Club in middle schools, and Key Club at the high school level, along with Circle K at the University of South Carolina Aiken.
If you’re as excited as we are about the oyster roast, purchasing tickets is simple! You can do it online through Eventbrite, or you can mail a check to the Kiwanis Club of Aiken at P.O. Box 991, Aiken, S.C., 29802. Don’t forget, there are also sponsorship opportunities available for those looking to contribute more!
For any additional questions or information regarding the event, feel free to reach out to Dustin Ennis at dustin.ennis@edwardjones.com or Angela Boyette at aboyette@hotmail.com.
