Hey there, Harlem residents! Get ready to welcome one of the nation’s favorite sandwich chains to your community. That’s right, Jersey Mike’s Subs is setting up shop in our very own city, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
The buzz around town is that bids are currently being accepted for subcontractors to perform a tenant buildout at the bustling Greenpoint development, just a stone’s throw north of our beloved Pumpkin Center. This new location will be situated near the Harlem-Appling exit of I-20, making it an easy stop for both locals and passersby alike.
Plans are in the works for this soon-to-be-sandwich haven to occupy one of the suites within a commercial strip that’s expected to be a hub for several hundred brand new homes. Isn’t that exciting? With fresh faces moving into the area, Jersey Mike’s could potentially see a flock of eager customers right at their door!
For those who may not know, Harlem is a cozy little town with a population of fewer than 4,000 people. Despite our small size, we’re home to a handful of popular locally-owned restaurants as well as a few beloved chains like Subway, Hardee’s, Huddle House, Pizza Hut, and Domino’s Pizza. But now, we’ll have another option, and it’s one that’s sure to tantalize your taste buds.
Expect to see the Jersey Mike’s shop open its doors just a couple of miles from many potential sandwich lovers. It’ll be conveniently located a short drive away from the bustling Amazon and Club Car facilities at the White Oak Business Park, which employ over 5,000 people combined. Can you imagine the lunch rush? Delicious subs right within reach for those hardworking folks?
Parents, students, and faculty at Harlem High School will also be pleased to know that the new Jersey Mike’s establishment will be only about 2 miles north of the school. This makes grab-and-go lunches or after-school snacks a breeze! Whether you’re feeding a hungry teen or treating yourself to something special after class, this will be a go-to stop for tasty subs.
According to the project’s plans, local commercial contractor Eric Clark will oversee the construction. The new shop is projected to cover a spacious 1,960 square feet and will comfortably seat around 15-20 diners. It’s great to hear that our community will have more places to enjoy meals together, especially in a charming setting designed for dining in!
If you’re wondering about Jersey Mike’s reputation, let’s just say they are no stranger to sandwich enthusiasts nationwide. In 2023, the popular chain boasted a whopping 2,684 locations across the United States, according to the data curation service Statista. With this new location, Harlem will proudly become the 11th Jersey Mike’s in the metro Augusta area.
So there you have it, folks! Big things are coming to Harlem, and Jersey Mike’s Subs is just the beginning. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on their opening date—it looks like our food scene is about to get even tastier!
