Exciting New Housing Development Set to Transform Augusta Community

Exciting New Housing Development Comes to Augusta!

Hey there, Augusta residents! There’s some thrilling news hitting the town—plans have officially moved forward to add more than 200 single-family homes in our lovely neighborhood. If you’re dreaming of a new place to call home, you might want to pay attention!

Residential Dreams Become a Reality

During a recent meeting of the Augusta Commission on November 18, a pivotal decision was made. The commission approved a zoning change for a section located at 2355 Windsor Spring Road. This area, previously zoned for business, will now transition to one-family residential. What does that mean for the community? More homes for families looking to settle down in Augusta!

DDG Development, the team behind this project, has put in a request to transform 4.5 acres out of a total of 6.95 acres at that site. Besides the residential homes, the remaining land will still be dedicated to business use. This includes plans for a Dollar General Store, making it easier for current and future residents to get their shopping done without straying too far from home.

What to Expect in the New Neighborhood

So, what kind of homes are we talking about? The proposal includes plans for 119 single-detached homes and 115 attached family townhomes. That’s a whole lot of new living space, which means more families can enjoy life in Augusta. Plus, the neighborhood will spread across over 62 acres of land at multiple addresses including 2421 Windsor Spring Road, 2500 Craven Street, and 3401 Lucie Street.

A Family-Friendly Community

Now, let’s chat about the fun stuff! The new community is set to feature an amenity area designed with families in mind. Think about it: a playground where kids can laugh and play, and a picnic cabana perfect for weekend gatherings with friends and family! It sounds like a great spot to make lasting memories.

But here’s the best part—the city has a rule that requires these amenities to be installed before any more than 50% of the homes can start receiving certificates of occupancy. This means that the fun parts of living in this new development will be ready for everyone to enjoy as soon as possible!

Accessibility and Convenience

Accessibility is key, right? The development will feature two entry drives, with the main entrance located at Windsor Spring’s signalized intersection with Rosier Road. This makes it easy for families and visitors alike to come and go without any hassle.

Join the Excitement

With the approval granted by the Augusta Commission, the planning and construction of these new homes can now move forward. For those dreaming of a new space to stretch out, embrace community living, and enjoy family outings, this could be the perfect opportunity. Keep an eye out, because in the near future, Augusta will be welcoming more neighbors and new friends.

So, whether you’re looking to purchase a new home, or simply want to stroll through this upcoming neighborhood, there’s a bright future ahead in Augusta. As more families arrive, the community spirit will keep growing, turning our lovely city into an even more exciting place to call home!
