Plans are underway to establish a new state veteran cemetery right in Gracewood to honor and provide a resting place for our local heroes.

Excitingly, 200 acres of land have already been set aside behind the East Central Regional Hospital in Gracewood for this cemetery. This site will not only provide a dignified resting place but will also feature beautiful grounds for families to visit their loved ones. Thanks to the hard work of the Veterans Cemetery Initiative, co-chaired by former Augusta Mayor Bob Young and newly elected Commissioner Don Clark, this project is gaining the attention it deserves.
Funding the Vision
