As December rolls in, the city of Aiken is gearing up for a joyful and festive holiday season! With a kaleidoscope of events on the horizon, there’s something for everyone in our beloved community. From parades to concerts, let’s take a look at what’s happening this month!
Mark your calendars folks! This year’s 14th Annual Hoofbeats and Christmas Carols Parade will be lighting up the streets of downtown Aiken on December 15 from 2 PM to 4 PM. And it wouldn’t be a parade without our cheerful Mayor, Teddy Milner, who was spotted last year holding a furry friend while riding in a charming horse-drawn wagon. Isn’t that just the cutest thing?
Looking for a merry way to kick off your holiday celebrations? Head over to SRP Park for Auggie’s Holiday BUZZar on December 10. This delightful event runs from 10 AM to 1 PM and is packed with fun activities. Bring your furry pals along because dogs are more than welcome! Snap some pictures with Auggie Claus, and take a stroll through the various booths. Plus, you can join in on the 1-Mile Hot Chocolate Fun Run!
On December 12, the GVW Fire Department is hosting a Cookies with Santa event from 6 PM to 8 PM. This family-friendly gathering promises delicious treats, fun, and holiday cheer, so stop by for some sweet memories!
The sounds of the season will resonate through the Miller Theater on December 12 as the Augusta Symphony presents The Sounds of the Season: A Chloe Christmas from 7 PM. It’s the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit with some remarkable music.
Join the community at A Christmas Gathering on December 13 at the Purple Hull Market and Eatery from 5 PM to 9 PM. Enjoy hot cocoa, sit by the fire, and, of course, catch a glimpse of Santa himself! Who doesn’t love a little gift-giving spirit?
The holiday magic continues with the Mistletoe Market on December 14 at Augusta & Co.. This vibrant market from 11 AM to 6 PM will feature unique gifts from local businesses, perfect for stuffing those stockings.
Beginning on December 14, the 32nd Annual Christmas in Hopelands event will take place at Hopelands Gardens. Guests can enjoy a stunning display of over 2 miles of lighted pathways through December 23 from 6 PM to 9:30 PM. Plus, make sure to catch the lovely concerts every night at 7 PM on the Roland H. Windham Performing Arts Stage!
Don’t forget the Christmas Fest happening in Burnettown on December 14 starting at 12:30 PM, where families can enjoy photos with Santa and a parade following at 3 PM. And of course, we can’t miss the Langley Pond Christmas celebration, where Santa arrives by boat at noon!
Wrap up the holiday season with a cinematic experience! “Frozen” will be shown at the Miller Theater on December 15 at 4 PM. While it’s a free show, don’t forget to grab a ticket for entry!
Aiken is undoubtedly buzzing with holiday happiness this season! So gather your loved ones, bring the holiday cheer, and enjoy everything our wonderful city has to offer. Happy Holidays, Aiken!
