The Senior Men’s Club of Aiken will have its monthly meeting at noon on Wednesday, October 16, at the Woodside Country Club located at 1000 Woodside Drive. The guest speaker for the day will be Allen Riddick, who will delve into the rich history of our community with a presentation on Vintage Photographs of Aiken. For just $25 (or $29 with dessert), you can enjoy a delightful meal and learn from a local expert. Bridge Games and Lessons

If you’re a fan of cards, the Aiken Bridge Club invites players to join their ACBL Sectional Bridge Game at the Lessie B. Price Aiken Senior and Youth Center every Monday and Wednesday starting at 1 p.m.. Plus, there’s a free bridge lesson at 11:30 a.m. prior to the game. Rummage Sale Extravaganza

Mark your calendars for a fantastic rummage sale at St. Paul Lutheran Church, taking place from October 17 to 19. The sale kicks off with a special preview on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., where admission is just $10. The main sale continues on Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Family Promise Aiken County. It’s a great chance to find treasures and support the community!

Live Jazz at The Willcox

Jazz lovers won’t want to miss 4 Cats in the Doghouse playing live every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Willcox, located at 100 Colleton Ave. Grab a drink, relax, and enjoy an evening filled with smooth tunes and a lively atmosphere.

Weekend Activities Abound

The upcoming weekend is packed with events! On Friday, October 18, you can catch a concert by David Phelps at the Imperial Theater in Augusta starting at 7 p.m. with tickets ranging from $22 to $70. For gardening enthusiasts, the Aiken Master Gardeners will be hosting a Lunchbox Lecture on “Rain Gardens 101” at Millbrook Baptist Church at noon on the same day!

Later that day, the Umoja Village will host their One Heart, One Love for Reconciliation event at 3 p.m., encouraging community harmony and cultural appreciation.

Shoutfest Unityfest

Don’t miss the Shoutfest Unityfest on Saturday, October 19, a fantastic outdoor gospel festival at Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy uplifting performances by various artists and choirs. It’s a great way to enjoy community spirit and positivity!

Fall Fission Festival

The Fall Fission Festival is also taking place on Saturday at the SRS Museum from 1 to 4 p.m. This free event promises fun for the whole family, with hands-on activities and learning experiences about science and history.
