Exciting Developments in Aiken: New Convenience Options for Residents

Exciting Developments in Aiken: New Convenience Options for Residents

Hey there, Aiken! If you’ve been cruising down Columbia Highway recently, you might have noticed a shiny new addition to our community. A 7-Eleven has just opened its doors at 2730 Columbia Hwy. N., and it’s sparking a lot of chatter around town. This new spot is just north of exit 22 off Interstate 20, which makes it super convenient for both locals and travelers!

Convenience Galore!

This brand new 7-Eleven measures in at a whopping 4,650 square feet and features not one, but eight standard gas pump islands and five diesel pump islands. That’s a serious upgrade for those of us who need to fuel up! Plus, it has separate entrances for cars and trucks — so whether you’re driving your everyday vehicle or a big rig, getting in and out should be a breeze.

You’ll also appreciate the advertising possibilities here. The store comes equipped with a monument sign and an impressive 80-foot tall sign that will surely catch the eye of passing interstate drivers. So, if you’re looking for a quick snack, a refreshing drink, or a fill-up, this is going to be your go-to pit stop!

More Options Coming Soon!

But wait, there’s more! The convenience doesn’t stop with just the 7-Eleven. A Parker’s Kitchen is also on the way for the city’s Eastside. The Aiken City Council has already given the thumbs up to provide water and sewer services to this new location, which is set to be a hot spot for both food and fuel.

This upcoming Parker’s Kitchen will be located at the intersection of East Pine Log and Levels Church Road, with plans for a 5,175-square-foot store featuring a kitchen and indoor seating. There’s buzz that it will have 10 fuel pump islands under a canopy and even space for larger vehicles to refuel. This means you’ll soon have yet another place to grab a quick bite or stock up on your favorite snacks!

Changes on the Southside?

And if that isn’t enough, another Parker’s Kitchen could pop up on the Southside of Aiken, close to the intersection of Whiskey and Chukker Creek roads. The city council is meeting on September 23 to discuss a request for water and sewer services for this future location. Traffic studies suggest that this new spot could generate approximately 2,100 trips each day — that’s a lot of activity!

With a busy morning and evening peak, it’s clear that Aiken residents are looking forward to the added convenience and choices that these projects bring. Things are definitely looking lively around here!

City Council Updates

For those keeping an eye on city matters, the upcoming council meeting is set for 7 p.m. on September 23. This meeting will include discussions about a $4 million budget surplus, plus a couple of new developments — including the annexation of a 55-plus community near the upcoming Parker’s Kitchen. It sounds like Aiken is gearing up for some exciting growth!

So, whether you’re planning on getting your fuel at the new 7-Eleven, checking out a Parker’s Kitchen for some tasty food, or just enjoying the evolution of our community, there’s a lot of good news ahead. Stay tuned, Aiken — things are only getting better!
