Christmas Tree Sale Brings Holiday Spirit to North Augusta Community

Christmas Cheer is in the Air in North Augusta!

The scent of pine and the spirit of giving filled the air in North Augusta as the community came together for the annual Christmas tree sale, organized by the North Augusta Optimist Club. On November 21, volunteers, including students from Fox Creek High School, rolled up their sleeves and got to work unloading around 350 stunning trees from a delivery truck that traveled all the way from Tuckasegee, North Carolina.

A Community Tradition

This heartwarming event isn’t just about selling beautiful trees; it’s a cherished tradition that has been branching out for years. Chris Hobbs, the club president, highlighted the importance of community involvement, saying, “We like helping the community with children and youth programs.” The tree sale has become a major fundraiser, allowing the Optimist Club to support various programs throughout the year, including an Easter egg hunt and scholarships for students.

Hands-On Helpers

With chilly temperatures hovering around 30°F and the sun shining brightly at 55°F, the students energetically participated in unloading the trees. Among them were Fox Creek’s very own Dalton Weathersby and Hank Greene, who eagerly pitched in to help. According to Joanna Arnold from the Optimist Club, “It’s a very successful fundraiser for us, and we get people who come year after year. They have come for generations, bringing their kids and grandkids!”

Get Your Christmas Tree!

For those looking to add a touch of festive joy to their homes, the Christmas tree sale is the perfect place to start. The trees will be available for purchase at a lot located off Martintown Road and Knobcone Avenue. Sale hours are from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays, and 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. Mark your calendars and come pick out the perfect tree to light up your holiday season!

Building Community Connections

The Optimist Club’s efforts show just how deeply connected and supportive the North Augusta community is. Each tree sold not only provides the perfect backdrop for holiday memories but also supports programs that impact local youth. So whether you’re on the hunt for a towering fir or a cozy little pine, know that your purchase is helping to spread cheer well beyond your living room.

Join the Holiday Spirit!

As the temperatures drop and the holiday season kicks off, getting involved in community events like this tree sale is a wonderful way to embrace the spirit of giving. So grab your family, head over to the lot, and enjoy the sight of all those lovely trees waiting for new homes.

Remember, it’s not just about finding the perfect Christmas tree; it’s about celebrating community, tradition, and the joy of giving. Happy Holidays, North Augusta!
