Supporting the Children’s Hospital of Georgia Made Easy by Shoppers
In Augusta, Georgia, customers shopping at Walmart and Sam’s Club now have an opportunity to make a significant difference in children’s lives. Shoppers will be asked to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network at checkout throughout this month. Each dollar donated goes directly to the local hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
A Long-Standing Tradition of Charity
The Children’s Hospital of Georgia, a non-profit organization, has been a proud member of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1986. Relying heavily on community support, these donations fund vital needs such as programmatic needs, equipment, summer camps organized by Child Life, and specific requirements like the NICU’s new giraffe bed.
The Power of Community Giving
Employees of Walmart and Sam’s Club are enthusiastic about the annual fundraising campaign as they work hard to raise as many funds as possible. Various initiatives are conducted at their locations, such as fundraisers at gas stations, cookouts, snack tables, and even rubber duck sales, to encourage customer participation.
The impact of this initiative deeply resonates with some members of the community. Sonya Clayton, whose nephew required the services of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, expressed her gratitude and support for the charity. She emphasized that the funds raised truly help the local community, reflecting the spirit of giving that embodies this campaign.
With this initiative, the community is supporting children in dire need of care like Coale, who has brittle bone disease. Born with 12 broken bones, Coale continues to receive care at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and fervently thanked everyone for their donations and support.
A Successful Track Record
Year after year, both the Augusta and Savannah areas come together in support of this noble cause. In the previous year alone, more than $300,000 was accumulated through this annual fundraising campaign, reflecting the boundless power of community involvement and generosity.
Maintaining its momentum, 38 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the area are participating in the initiative this July. The journey towards changing countless lives for the better continues this year, spurred by the unified endeavours of an empathetic community.
