AIKEN, S.C. – An Augusta man is now facing serious charges linked to a deadly shooting that took place at the Seventh Lounge more than three years ago. The man, identified as Tykendran Je Rhon Creech, was charged this week with murder and multiple counts of assault and weapon possession.
The tragic event occurred on November 28, 2020, when 30-year-old Craig Youmans from North Augusta was shot and killed at the popular nightclub located at 1695 Richland Avenue East in Aiken. According to law enforcement, Youmans was found deceased in the parking lot, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
On that same night, emergency responders arrived to a chaotic scene where they treated several individuals injured in the altercation. It was a shocking event that rattled the local community, which still remembers the incident vividly.
Initially, various suspects were charged in 2021 as the investigation unfolded. They included Lasonya Teresa Howard from Aiken, who faced charges of murder and conspiracy. Howard was granted a $50,000 bond by Judge Courtney Clyburn-Pope during a court appearance in May 2021.
Another suspect, Monishia Teria Courtney, 27, was arrested in Florida after police tracked her down based on similar murder and conspiracy charges. Additionally, Emmanuel Lewis Oneal and Dustin Robert Williamson were also apprehended and charged with murder, conspiracy, and other related offenses.
Now, four years after the shooting, Creech, who was 23 at the time of his first arrest, has been charged with one count of murder, ten counts of assault or attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Authorities noted that these charges represent the severity and complexity of the case, which has involved multiple people and ongoing legal proceedings.
The Aiken community has been deeply impacted by this event, with many residents still feeling the effects of the violence that transpired nearly three years ago. Law enforcement officials are working to ensure that justice is served for Youmans and the victims affected by the shooting.
Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the incident and are keeping the public updated on significant developments, hoping to bring closure to this case.
The legal process will now move forward with Creech facing serious charges. As the case continues, more information is expected to be released by local authorities regarding court dates and any new developments.
Community members remain hopeful for justice to be served, with many echoing the importance of addressing violence in the area and ensuring safety in public spaces.
This case serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges that communities face related to gun violence. As trial dates are set and more evidence comes to light, residents are keeping an eye on the outcome, seeking reassurance that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
As authorities work through the complex layers of this case, the community of Aiken looks forward to an outcome that not only brings justice for Craig Youmans but also encourages a dialogue on preventing future violence. This is a tragic reminder of the impact of such incidents on families and friends, as well as the wider community.
