Fatal Shooting on Walker Street

One of the first incidents occurred on Tuesday in broad daylight, around 1:30 p.m., on the 1900 block of Walker Street. Tragically, 29-year-old Cattory McBride lost his life in what witnesses described as a horrific scene. By 3 p.m. the same day, Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed McBride’s death, leaving friends and family reeling in grief.

It wasn’t long before *Trayvone David Cummings*, a 20-year-old man, turned himself in to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the shooting. However, authorities are still on the lookout for a second suspect, 19-year-old Damien Key, who is currently considered armed and dangerous. Key is described as 5-foot-9, weighing around 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Residents are being urged to stay vigilant and report any information about Key’s whereabouts, as he is wanted for multiple serious charges, including murder.

Armed Robbery Claims Another Life

Just days later, on Friday night around 9:30 p.m., the city was once again shaken when 29-year-old Abdallah Rubeha was fatally shot during an armed robbery at a local Smoke Shop on Lumpkin Road. Rubeha was found with multiple gunshot wounds and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at Wellstar MCG Hospital the following morning.

The investigation led to three identified suspects in connection with this tragic robbery. Burke County deputies initiated a vehicle pursuit, ultimately arresting 22-year-old Terrance Walker. Walker now faces a slew of serious charges, including felony aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. In a swift development, a stolen Taurus G2C 9 mm handgun, believed to be involved in the robbery, was recovered by deputies.

Another Life Taken at Richmond Summit Apartments

The string of violence continued into the weekend with yet another homicide, this time involving 41-year-old Quincy Clay Fields. On Wednesday around 3:30 p.m., Fields was shot in the chest at the Richmond Summit apartments on Broad Street. He later died at Wellstar MCG, mere minutes after being hospitalized.

In connection with Fields’ death, 62-year-old Victor Prince has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm. He is currently behind bars at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation as authorities seek to piece together the events that led to this tragic loss.
