In the charming city of Aiken, the spirit of the holiday season was alive and well, despite the challenges posed by a shortened shopping season. With New Year’s Eve just days away, local retailers reflected on a surprisingly strong performance that has left them feeling optimistic as they look toward 2025.
The weather on December 30, 2024, contributed to positive vibes in downtown Aiken, with a beautiful mix of clouds and sun, a pleasant high of 64°F, and gentle winds from the WSW. Evening temperatures dipped to around 43°F, making for a cozy night out as shoppers took advantage of the stores still buzzing with post-Christmas sales while bundled up in their favorite winter wear.
Max Watt, co-owner of Vikki’s … A Unique Boutique, expressed his delight in reporting a successful holiday season. Thanks to brisk sales and early December discounts, the boutique thrived, offering items at half price and making it a go-to stop for holiday shoppers. Vikki’s has also expanded, with a brand-new store called Oopsie Daisy that specializes in dancewear, a fantastic addition given the many dance studios popping up in Aiken.

Under consideration are various properties like a historical hotel site, which promises to benefit from the annual flood of tourists visiting the nearby Augusta National Golf Club during the Masters Tournament.
