With temperatures expected to hover in the cozy range of 68°F during the day and around 40°F at night, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out, explore, and enjoy everything our lovely community has to offer.
This weather means we’ll have plenty of sunshine lighting up our beautiful city, complemented by some gentle winds from both the west and west-northwest, which will keep things comfortable for outdoor activities. So, grab your sunglasses and a light jacket!
Local Attractions and Activities
Looking for something fun to do? The Savannah River Site Museum, located at 224 Laurens St. S.W., is welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday with no admission fee. It’s a great chance to learn about our history while soaking in the sunshine.

Upcoming Events for Everyone
Mark your calendars for a Community Development Block Grant meeting at the Smith-Hazel Recreation Center on January 30 at 5:30 p.m. Your input is invaluable as we discuss future community expenditures.
The excitement continues with the Main Street Players staging “Four Old Broads” at the Edgefield Discovery Center on January 31 and February 1 at 7:30 p.m., and don’t forget the matinee on February 2 at 3 p.m. Tickets are reasonably priced at $20, so gather your friends for an entertaining night out!
Evening Jazz and Special Concerts
If jazz is more your flavor, head over to The Willcox every Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. to enjoy the delightful tunes of 4 Cats in the Doghouse. It’s the perfect way to wind down your week!
Also, don’t miss “A Night at the Copa” featuring the Brandywine Brass and Maureen Simpson on January 31 at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Methodist Church. A little music can do wonders for the spirit!
Fun for Teens and Community Engagement
Teenagers can look forward to a special After Hours event at the Aiken County Public Library on January 31 from 6-7 p.m. This is designed for students in grades 6-12, offering some late-night fun and activities.
On February 1, the Aiken County Public School District is hosting a hiring event at Aiken High School from 8 a.m. to noon for those interested in teaching positions. It’s a great opportunity to explore a fulfilling career!
Outdoor Activities and Community Celebrations
And if you’re feeling the call of the outdoors, join the City of Aiken for a “Take-A-Hike” event at the Henderson Heritage Preserve on February 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a fantastic way to combine exercise with nature!
On February 2, Quakers will hold a virtual service at 10 a.m., welcoming all to join in. Plus, don’t miss the Black History Month Community Celebration hosted by Umoja Village at the Aiken Senior & Youth Center at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20.
Exciting Programs and Future Gatherings
The following day, February 3, brings an open practice/audition for the Aiken County Boys Choir at 4 p.m. – boys in third through eighth grade are welcome to come and sing!
As we look ahead, be prepared for the Aiken Women’s Heart Board event entitled “I Heart Nola” from February 19-23, along with the Aiken Republican Club meeting on February 26, featuring an appearance from Aiken Mayor Pro Tem Ed Girardeau.
