Travis Doss, the Executive Director of the Board, shared some insights about the upcoming ballots. “You know, everybody with the media is talking about the presidential election, but we have senate, we have local house members, local representatives, and we also have school board elections,” he said. This is a reminder that when you receive your ballot, it may be a two-page ballot with several important races listed.
Important Dates to Remember
To make sure you can vote, it’s critical to keep a few essential dates in mind:
- Absentee Ballot Application Deadline: Don’t forget, to apply for an absentee ballot, you need to submit your application by October 25th.
- Early Voting Begins: Mark your calendars! Advanced voting starts on October 15th, which gives you a great opportunity to cast your vote ahead of time.
- Absentee Ballot Submission: The last day to submit your absentee ballot is on election day by 7 PM. The sooner you send it back, the better!

Richmond County voters have the chance to participate in early voting at various polling locations spread across the county. “So, you’ve got three weeks of early voting and we strongly encourage people not to wait until election day,” stated Doss. As an ex-military individual, Conan said, “I think voting is important because I’m ex-military, we fought for freedom so we have to vote for that.
