Peggy was born in Ward, South Carolina, to the late George W. and Lettie Crouch Morris. Growing up alongside her late brother Ralph and an infant brother, she was the embodiment of family values and togetherness. After marrying her beloved husband, John H. (“Jack”) Reel, Peggy dedicated 64 wonderful years to him until his passing. Her devotion to her family was evident, and she embraced the role of a loving mother to her daughter Gloria and son-in-law Randy Brown. Later on, she blossomed into a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, showering her grandkids with endless affection.
Her family, including grandchildren Ashleigh Gibbons and Benji Brown, as well as great-grandchildren Brayden, Kason, Elizabeth Lettie, and Henry Clifford, were essential parts of her wonderful life. Peggy’s love for them radiated through every memory they shared, creating stories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Community Contributions
Outside her home, Peggy was a respected figure in her community. She had a successful career as a retired office manager with Herlong Pontiac Chevrolet, where her colleagues admired her organizational skills and warm nature. Beyond her professional life, her dedication to her church, the Johnston First Baptist Church, was unwavering. Peggy was a cherished member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Johnson-Holston Circle, where she found a sense of belonging and a network of friends.
In her later years, Peggy became an active volunteer on the Landscape Committee at Kalmia Landing, where she lived for seven years. Her green thumb and creativity helped to embellish the environment, making it a more beautiful place for everyone. Friends and neighbors knew her not just as a committed volunteer but also as a person who offered friendship and warmth to all.
A Public Farewell
To honor Peggy’s memory, a graveside service will take place at **3:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024**, at the Mt. of Olives Cemetery in Johnston, SC. It will be a heartfelt gathering as friends and family come together to remember the light that Peggy brought into their lives. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family at the gravesite to share stories, laughter, and tears as they reflect on a beautiful life lived with grace and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Johnston First Baptist Church Building Fund, reflecting Peggy’s deep connection to her faith and community.
