Good morning, residents of South Carolina! If you’re stepping out today, you might want to take a moment to grab that extra cup of coffee before hitting the road. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 AM EST this morning, making visibility quite the challenge!

What’s Brewing in the Fog?

With visibility dropping to a shrouded one quarter mile or even less, it’s important to be extra cautious if you plan to drive. The fog is primarily affecting portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina, so keep that in mind if you’re in those areas.

Drive Safe, Folks!

Low visibility can lead to hazardous driving conditions, so here are a few quick safety reminders: slow down, use your headlights, and make sure to keep plenty of distance between you and the car ahead. You don’t want to rush and find yourself in a sticky situation!

Weather Outlook

As the fog lifts this morning, expect some sunshine to break through, giving way to clouds throughout the day. It’s going to be a warm one with temperatures reaching a pleasant 68°F. The winds will be light and variable, making for a lovely late autumn day. However, keep an eye out for a sneaky rain shower that could pop up later, with lows dipping to around 58°F.
