At 40 years old, Hankinson wears many hats: he is the ISS supervisor, a valued community leader, the head coach and co-owner of Hankinson Boxing Gym, and a devoted family man. Alongside his wife Brittany and their three children, Hankinson is also a proud grandfather to Armani. His life revolves around service and uplifting the youth in Aiken County.
When Hankinson and Brittany noticed a surge in gun violence among local youth in 2015, they knew they had to take action. Rather than letting frustration hold them back, they founded the nonprofit Hankinson Boxing Gym with the motto “Gloves Up, Guns Down.” The gym not only provides a safe space for young people to train and compete but also includes programs that assist with homework, Bible study, and personal development.

Hankinson takes immense pride in the success of their initiatives. To date, 100% of the young participants who completed the program have graduated high school. This past summer, they even had the honor of competing in the National Junior Olympics where five out of seven students brought home medals.
