Meet the Talented Soloists

Get ready to be wowed by the incredible guest soloists who will be taking the stage. Aiken natives Marlena Brinkley and Adam Catagui are set to enchant the audience with their stunning vocal performances. Marlena, a soprano, has recently made waves in Europe, having just made her debut in Vicenza, Italy. She’s received rave reviews for her portrayal of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte.”

Her voice is a grand and sumptuous treat, reminiscent of legendary diva Beverly Sills. Over the years, Marlena has wowed audiences in various roles, including Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni,” Leonora in “Il Trovatore,” and Lucia in “Lucia di Lammermoor.” And let’s not forget, Marlena honed her remarkable skills at the University of South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Adam Catagui, a tenor, is making quite a name for himself. Currently a second-year master’s student at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, he has an exciting season lined up for 2024/25. Adam is set to perform the tenor solo in the premiere of Patrick Hawes’ “The Son of Man” alongside the Houston Chamber Choir and Houston Symphony. He’s also involved in the spring production of “The Ghosts of Versailles.”

And it doesn’t stop there! This summer, Adam will join the Wolf Trap Opera as a studio artist, where he will be the voice behind Don Curzio in “Le nozze di Figaro,” along with opportunities to cover roles in “Carmen” and “Dialogues des Carmélites.” He made a splash last summer with his debut at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. So, the levels of talent on the stage will be soaring!

An Unforgettable Musical Experience

The concert itself will be a smorgasbord of musical delights, featuring works by the renowned Andrew Lloyd Webber and selections from popular Broadway shows. You can expect to hear hits from “Wicked,” “Cats,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Phantom of the Opera,” and “West Side Story.” Whether you’re a Broadway aficionado or just looking for a lovely afternoon out, this concert has something for everyone!
