Over the recent games, Thompson, who plays first base for USC Aiken, showcased his remarkable talent, going 6-for-16 at the plate. His standout performance included a pivotal game against the ninth-ranked Catawba, where he not only recorded a single but also drove in a crucial run that helped the Pacers clinch a victory.

He earned a spot on the Class AAAAAA second team, being the sole player from Evans High to receive such an honor. The Evans Knights concluded their season with a respectable 19-12 overall record and a region tally of 14-4.
